I tried translating some of the text because I need it in another language.
I also tried creating a new page from the preferences menu in another language
and this is what I get

Is your browser actually showing, or set up for the the language you need?

Maybe it is just a browser related setting?

If I want to look at for instance chinese letter sets, I need to install this in my browser.

Also, it may have to do with the text editor you use to import the translation with...

the problem was that I was saving the files in ANSI format. I should've saved them in UTF-8. I did that and now it works fine except the categories.
They still won't display correctly.

send me an email please with your store url and ftp. I don't speak russian (it looks like your text is in russian) and not sure what encoding should be used or if it has to be set in our files somwhere too, but i will talk to programmers and find one that speka rusian too, and will look for a solution.
