Hi Omar
have tried many different keywords to pull. Nothing has thumbnails
used different templates no difference.
Changed settings in Preferences from original to siex 200 x 200 as a test. Nothing
What's next to try for troubleshooting. Thumbnails for amazon products are fine.
Regards, Jan

Has a fix been found for this? I'm new to Store Stacker and just got my first site up. Everything else seems to work fine, but there are no thumbnails for the YouTube videos.
I've tried other templates and recreating the video pages but can't get the thumbnails to show up. They don't show up in either Firefox or IE.

I don't remember getting access to have a look of that. So far these 2 are the only cases of such an issue.

There are many people (me included)--going back many months--who have had this problem (YouTube thumbnails not showing). Why can't we get a straight answer (Omar)?? Another common problem is Amazon prices showing up as N/A. Who's got the answers?

If you had this problem why didn't you posted about it?! I don't remember any other post except this one about the issue. You are not getting a straight answer because there is not one. Some people out of 3000+ users (about 4 so far including you) experience some problems. That logically means that it should be some local server issue rather then a software bug since a very limited number of people experince it. The reason and issue may vary from server to server and that is why i asked every time ftp access to check the files and settings.. The amazon N/A prices was discussed in more threads, you can find it if you use the search feature. Basically, the N/A shows when amazon does not have a price in the datafeed for some product. Not all prices they list on amazon exit on affiliate datafeed too, and those that exist can sometime have different or even missing details (title, description, price, image, etc)

On some servers chmoddig is not recurring so the subfolders (like pictures) permissions do not get changed when the parent folder (common) is chmodded. In this case you need to manually chmodd to 777 the folder named /pictures/ inside the /common/ directory. I did that for you and it worked. Anyone with a similar issue shold first try the above...

There is a "new" reason for missing thumbs: youtube feed structure has changed. There is an image given but not separated, is build in description of the feed, and there is no more embed player code.
The only solution would be to send you the old youtube plugin, that still works and will have a thumb and embed player, but the video results can be a bit unrelated (old plugin is based on video tags, and sometime people spam tags with unrelated keywords, that make videos show for keywords that they are not related with).
If any of you want to give it a try, I have attached the old plugin here. Just overwrite the current files.

Thanks Omar! Where/How do I get the old plugin?? I see you attached it, but don't see links, don't know how to find the attachment and download it. The permission on common/pictures is fine. I used the Cpanel upload and extracted while the zip file was on the server, so, in theory, the files are not corrupted --- WAY easier than fighting with 9 different ftp options to try to get uncorrupted binary files onto the server.!! Thanks for suggesting that in the manual! Could there be a problem with this, or would that ensure uncorrupted binary? (on Hostgator)

reverting to the old YouTube plugin fixed the problem for me. Are there any features in the new plugin that we are giving up by using the old one?

New plugin has a better search module, suppose to find better (more related to the search keyword) videos. Old ones are decent too, but may be issues when people spam their videos with unrelated keywords (stuffing it as tags)
