Ebay plugin problems

Although there are a lot of options in this plugin, you cannot limit the number of items to display- it would be good if you could.

Also im finding that even with a real specific keyword (that I check first on ebay search to see what comes up) that when I grab products in store staker- they are coming back as real random and not as specific as they should be.

eg, if i put in home business, tons of random stuff like fridges with 'home' in description end up on the store. The same doesnt happen if you search the term on ebay- results seem more targeted?

Or am I doing something wrong here with ebay plugin?

I tried home business in ebay plugin and got pages of 'capri pants' results.lol

I also tried Information-Products- and got pages of car parts- when on ebay these are work from home products??? Confused...

Harry, this is par for the course, Storestacker is far from the wonderful product it was sold as.  I've asked for a refund, but it was refused.

I can't even get guitars in their categories I ask for Fender and get Gretch or Albinez.  It's a shambles.

What beggars belief is that people say they're creating hundreds of these sites, can you imagine how long they will have to spend each day updating their listings?  I'll bet there's a ton of sites out there with auctions that were closed in early April.

Harry, you do nothing wrong probably (though i would still need to see your rules to be 100% sure) but Ebay made more changes to their system last week.

Here is some quotes fro ebay blog:

– Updated 21st April : placement ids by tool
– Updated 20th April : url encoding.

Ray, the refund policy that you agree with say refund will be given if SS failes to work and we fail to fix. Is not our fault that ebay have issues during their migration, and we do our best to keep up with them. I respect your opinion about how wonderful is SS, but is your personal opinion. Please don't make it look like we sell crap here and don't care about it. People doing hundreads sites probably know what they are doing, and setting up a cronjob for ebay to get autoptated takes 5 minutes for a site.

Omar, might I ask where you announced the improvements?  If eBay made changes last week, the only version I've seen "announced" was on the 14th April so will not include them.

The thread about updating the sites is also 14th April.  It doesn't say any thing about further updates.

We're not psychic.  I will try the new version and see how it goes.

You are right Ray, it was not announced. It will be announced this week, we wanted to make a bit more improvements before announcement. But i had reveal that here and there, for people that felt can not wait anymore. This is why the update thread even if was made on 14th, was edited on 21st, because procedure changed once with new cron files.

If you click on one of the product links, you get a 404 error.

I am guessing that some kind of redirect should happen here, but I am not that good with fixing things like that.

BTW, I like that feature of having the Ebay products as related. Really fills out the site nicely.

Jinger, looks like you have an older bug there. Follow the update steps in the update thread and should be fixed.

Is not about setting a new ebay store, but updating the files of your store. There is also a link to video there, but it may be less accurate the the text description, couple last stept added at the end of process that are not in the video as they where added after recording and movie not yet updated.

It's giving me a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error when you click on the link.

Any suggestions? I did follow the instructions, and I made sure I uploaded the files in binary. I just can't think of anything else to do.

I just tried and it worked fine for me. I got redirected to an ebay auction. Got no error of any kind.
