I thought i'd share a problem i had in setting up StoreStacker in case anyone runs into it in future.

When i first set up StoreStacker, everything seemed to be ok. Once i entered my admin password, though, nothing happened. All it did was bring up a blank page. What was up?

Turned out some of my files had the wrong persmissions on them, which Omar quickly identified and fixed.

The install manager only says you need to make sure that the folder Common, and the files .htaccess and sitemap.xml all have 777 permission. However my files (not folders) had permissions of 777. Omar changed these - apart from .htaccess and sitemap.xml - to 644 and everything worked fine.

The manual shows slightly different permission for files, but presumably these would work as well. I didn't bother checking persmissions on anything else than the 1 folder and 2 files mentioned in the manual, since it didn't talk about that.

Omar said the permission on my files may have been set to 777 by the server i loaded them to, but when i looked at the unzipped files on my own computer, they had the same permissions they originally had on the server (and i didn't change them).

In any case, bottom line is, if your site comes up blank the first time you enter your admin password, it could be that some of your StoreStacker files have the wrong permissions.
