I've just started to set up SS on my new site and I'm getting 3 copies of all products grabbed from Amazon DVD categories.

I started by grabbing a Books category from Amazon Books and this worked ok. The ebay and clickbank grabs appear to work more or less as expected too. I then created a second caategory of DVDs and tried to grab from Amazon DVD. What I got was 3 entries for every product. The products seem to match the keyword ok but 3 copies of each instead of 1.

Is this a known problem?

Where did you downloaded the SS zip that you used for install? It is an old issue as i know. Try go through the update procedure listed in a sticky thread here.

Hi Omar,

I originally downloaded SS the day I purchased 1st April 08 and I subsequently updated on the 12th April. I remember going through an update procedure similar to the one in the sticky.

Is there a later version? I believe that I updated to the instructions but I have to say that they do seem a bit overly complicated and as such just a little prone to human error. Would it be possible to produce an automatic update script of some sort so that even I can't get it wrong in future?

Latest script files are dated 24th April.

Unfortunately an automatic update would not be possible without uploading new files, and to automatically upload files on your server would open the door to other issues.

If you are not sure you can update yourself, send me ftp access and store admin password and will do it myself.

Hi Omar,

Ok it looks like I'm a little out of date so I'll do the update again. Thanks.

Steve
