Over the years I have bought a lot of tools.
Many of them run on the server as opposed to the desktop.

Since many of these tools pull data from different places,
I was wondering if it makes sense to run all your tools
from one server or IP address?

Could the fact that you are pulling all this data via the
same IP constitute a footprint?

Lately I have been considering a VPS solution in
combination with a shared solution.
The VPS will be for my money sites and a mixture
of VPS and Shared Hosting for my tools.

Any comments on the best way to do this?

Thanks,

db

When you are using a desktop tool that is pulling data from the web, you are still using one IP, your computer's IP. There is nothing difefrent about that, just that a tool has your server's IP and another has your home computer IP.

Spreading your sites and tools over multiple IPs (on same or different hosts) can't harm at all.
