Are there good paying jobs in SEO? I ask because when it comes to SEO, I am very good Smiley three websites I've built and currently run rank very well with Google, MSN, Yahoo, Alexa and even Overture.

I am re-doing SEO work for a lady who runs a diabities type of website. She needs help and it's for charity.

If you are good for SEO, you'd better work for yourself and start building your own websites and traffic.

I was taught to work up. Small to big sites. Keep a portfolio appropriate to the size of your prospect.

Here's a rule a big client with deep pockets who didn't hire me said when I asked him why I wasn't hired...he said:

1. Don't submit your own personal sites
2. Don't submit in your portfolio $1000.00 or under sites.

I wrote him back and said I didn't have big clients. He said -- do 2 big sites for free, and then you can hit the next big guy and impress him with your results -- if you're that good, and you will have to references.

Made sense to me, I just finished my second big site and they didn't have any problem with my $5000.00 fee. That includes 1 year follow up service.
