Lots of people have a view but has anyone REALLY tested this out. Does anyone who has real test results have anything to say on the subject?

You're right.  Everyone has a view on this.  I'm one of them .

You know, it's funny - I view SEO kind of like the way the US judicial system is run.  If I have "reasonable doubt" (and this is based on strong rumors, advice, etc etc, from trusted sources) I heed the advice.  

Now I don't believe it's imperative to have ALL of your sites on different C blocks, but I do like to spread the love over a sizeable group of IPs.

Hi Hovis - You probably didn't get posters to this thread because you are looking for real research! Like Scott says, everybody has their own opinions.

What I do is keep my WH sites on separate c-blocks from any BH sites I have. Other than that, I pay no attention.

Unique C block is Important!

I have been building many different server since last 2 mth.
searching through 300+ listing....really time consuming...

WARNING!
Do not buy Dedicate IPs @ more than $2/mth (some host really charges alot)
Do not pay more than $3/mth for hosting
Get at least 100MB Space
Get at least 500MB Bandwidth
