I think that is the best and most needed feature for this so called incredible software.  I do not use encrypted software period, never have, probably never will, so I'm going to miss this boat until you decide to un encrypt it, then I am sure your software sales will tripple. I know many people who feel the same way, if they pay for something, they want 100% freedom to edit and tweak / add features as they like. A encrypted software which is completely uneditible to php coders is completely useless.

Just a suggestion.

I had the same issues with zend and eventually after trying all 3 of my hosting accounts bought some more! At least it keeps it away from my money sites. But I wish it could have worked first time.

seee i already spenda a great deal on hosting and I don't care to buy more hosting when I really don't need it, I just know that encoded scripts don't sell half as well as unencoded.

If it is not encrypted then it can be stolen, reverse engineered and replicated like all the other blog software out there.

If it is not encrypted then it can also be "corrected" i.e. figure out whats making version 2.0 not work well with search engines unlike version 1.

bingo~! The EXACT thought I was thinking, what a mind reader.....

NC's sales went UP when steve didn't codelock his source anymore, so did user partcipation and development of the script, all php coders came into the forum and helped out and there are tons and tons of hacks for it.... although it isn't the best portal generator, we're always improving~!

I agree, I hate encrypted programs as well. Moreover, they do nothing to keep the knockoff artists at bay anyway  - http://www.blogomatix.com/

yep, agree..ditch the encoding. I've bought a lot of stuff that is unencoded and it doesn't appear to have hurt sales i.e Valhuru's script, PGInsider's stuff etc.
In fact, IMO,  its encouraged a much livelier forum with many contribs.
*edit* I'd love to tweak this proggie to run some of my php stuff..it would really make this the "ultimate" blog solution

There is no reason for blogsolution to be "unencoded". For the few people that would make tiny changes is silly. Blogsolution would lose lots of money.

There would be people that would change the "installation" of the script and remove their "copy protection" then freely distribute the script.

I like blog solution, thats why I payed for it.

I myself am a developer and could devote the month of time it would take to make it myself for free. I would encode it just as they did.

Perhaps if you offered $5,000 to the developers for the rights to "modify" and a "non distribution agreement". They might give you the source. That would be silly but, hard to pass up.

Just my 2 cents.

Avo you quoted me and then responded. However i'm failing to find the connection from your reply to my post.

The fact that scripts exist that are unencoded is not in debate. The fact that you can make changes to scripts that are not "encoded" is not in debate.

The fact that blog solution as a company would loose money, and therefore encodes their products is under debate.

being that connection is not obvious, more words from you are necessary for clarification of your point.
