Hi

I emailed Overstock about asking whether they accept International affiliates from the U.K. and although I haven't submitted an application, bought the SS Overstock plugin or built a site to appeal to Overstock yet, I received this reply on 3rd December 2008:

We do please apply through the US Linkshare Program.

Hello,
I just purchased the $1  trial (and plan to keep it, as so far I am sooo impressed!).  Before I decided which package, I called Travis at Overstock and asked why they do not accept out of US websites (#6 of the FAQ page).  He said that they did afteral because they are (or soon) will be expanding to the UK as a hub outside of US (and that products can be sent to here in Spain).  He seemed surprised that #6 was not reworded or dropped.  I have not applied yet but will, pointing them to a website I do have (food related) and will explain what my plans are about a store with their products.  It was a good tip from someone here not to let them know if you plan to use (or have) ebay products!  Thanks!

This seems to have primarily been an issue for those outside of the U.S., but if anyone within the U.S. had been rejected, try this:

Build your store and stock it with products from Amazon.  Use that as your sample site when you apply to Overstock.  It's much harder to turn someone away when you see that they're already pushing your competitor's products.   Wink

I was accepted when OS was with LS and when they moved to CJ I had to reapply. When I reapplied through CJ I was rejected.

I have other plans for SS anyways, but it feels like $25 I threw down the drain.
