Anyone else been rejected by Overstock? I was surprised. I didn't put a website on my app (which was optional) only because I haven't built an Overstock store yet. I resubmitted my app explaining I'm not a newbie and will be driving traffic to my SS stores through a network of blogs (among other things). I'll let you know how things turn out.

Me, too. Sad I didn't realize you had to have a store built already before you apply to be an affiliate. Wish I hadn't purchased the plugin, but I didn't know if it would still be available after the SS offer deadline was over. (To TPTB: It might be worth considering having a statement somewhere about that for those who are new to this, warning them that they should become affiliates before purchasing the plugins.)

But I figure I'll reapply when I have my store up. I'll be anxious to hear what happens for you, RightStart.

You should not really need to have a store setup before apply but you shoud show some nice site. You can have any site with some traffic, even a blog. I got my account before SS even exist.

I know you have it posted in the forum here, but I meant on the checkout page where it would be immediately seen by the buyer.

Besides, you posted that in the forum a couple days after I purchased SS, so I wouldn't have seen it anyway.

I don't intend to come off as snippy, I'm just giving my honest feedback here. Smiley

ALL within the UK can not get an overstock account!

The faq says

5. Can a website outside the United States be an Affiliate?
No. Currently, Overstock.com does not allow new International Affiliates in the program, unless specific permission has been given.

So what can be done? Who do I contact to get specific permission? My sites are all international?

My site was also rejected. I just looked at their faq:

5. Can a website outside the United States be an Affiliate?
Yes. Overstock.com does allow select International Affiliates in the program.

How to become a "select" international affiliate?

Just an idea, since I have'nt confirmed it... but when I applied to Overstock my application was also rejected. I kinda doubt it had anything to do with my store not being completely set up, since I needed to be approved by Overstock in order to fill store with products... cart before the horse or vice-versa if you know what I mean.

I'm thinking that since one of the conditions that was stated in the rection letter said:

* We do not allow drop-shipping by our affiliate partners or partner with ebay stores

So perhaps since I had the ebay plugin pulling in products... Overstock wasn't to thrilled about that and so they rejected my application. Once my store/site is complete, and site is actually live... I'll pull ebay products out and reapply to overstock to see if that was the issue.... and post my results here.

Well.. that comment is about drop-ship partner, that is something more then an affiliate. But you can just try to apply with any other site you ave, it does not have to be a SS store.

I am having trouble with Overstock as well!!!

This is a reply I got back from the Overstock Affiliate Manager.

"It looks like you have a Web site set up through eBay and at this time we do not allow drop-shippers. Sorry!"

Anyone got any solutions to the problem.

"drop-shippers" ?! What exactly do they mean by that? I know a drop-ship site is a site that take payments but delivery is done by another company (like visitors order from your site and pay you, then you send some part of the money to Amazon, overstock, ebay, etc and they deliver the goods to where you tell them to). A SS site is not a drop-shit site under any circumstances.

I just got rejected too and I have never been rejected from a sponsor before as I have a large network of high pr and quality sites.
After reading this thread...I applied carefully.
I didnt show them a store, I showed them several pr 4-6 content sites I have some with no products on yet from anywhere, some with products but not amazon.
Although I'm in the UK - 90% of traffic is from the USA. I also explained this. Domains were.com's
Im trying to email them and ask them to look again...shame I wanted to buy the plugin.
Im starting to think its simply a case of you have to live in the USA only or no dice.
