Omar:

I just received a email from Halfagain.com and it contained information about the new SS update for ebay.  The instructions in the email said "If you're already a customer, just download the latest installation archive from http://xxxxxxxxxx  and update (overwrite) the /ebay/ folder in the /plugins/ directory on your server.  When you create an eBay rule in "Grab N' Push", you'll see the countries there.
Well I did exactly what it said by going into my FTP program and opening the folder I have SS in and opening the plugins folder to locate ebay.  I opened that folder and uploaded the 2 files in the updated version.  When I then checked my site it is not there and I see a blank screen?  I hope I did not loose the whole site.

Thanks,

Rick

hey Guys:

Just spoke to Omar and the moral of the story is that .....

DON'T FORGET TO UPLOAD IN BINARY MODE!!!!!!!!!

If you don't it will appear that you lost your site.

Hi Rick... yes in the early SS days, this created havoc for me, too! Finally? I just left the FTP program in binary. I used to think that images had to go one way and ascii text another and yadda. But that is not true. I leave it on Binary and so far, for 4 months, everything is slick as silk.

BTW, if anyone is looking for a GREAT FTP program - FREE ... go check out

FileZilla

I've now used this for about 1/2 year, and I love it. Being GNU/GPL, there is a lot of activity on their site... how-to's, documentation, etc. And I LOVE how easy it is to backup your info.

I've used WS_FTP for eleventy hunnert years. And I still don't think they have a backup system! In changing computers a few months back, I finally decided to bail the WS_FTP ship, and started looking for ftp software that had a good backup mode. And found FileZilla. Cheesy
