Has anyone had the experience of editing the material (text) on a created page and no matter what font size you choose or style when you save and preview the changes are different that the ones you just saved?

Are you talking about static pages, created through SS interface? That can be either because of cache, or becuse the page will obey css style instead of what you manually set.

I am talking about a static page created by SS with links to articles on the page. How would you work with the cache and how could you change CCC styles?

The cache, just flush it from menu. If is the style (btw, is css not ccc) then it will be more complicated if you know know css.
