Keyword(s) Question

I have a question about keywords and/or the logic of SS's search function.  Maybe its answered but I haven't seen it.

Say you have a store about household furnishings.  You have categories with
subcategories, such as:

living room - category - total 500 keywords
    couches & chairs - subcategory - total 100 keywords
    lamps - subcategory - total 80 keywords
    rugs - subcategory - total 170 keywords
    tables - subcategory - total 150 keywords

So you have 500 keywords that covers your category split up by your subcategories.

What keywords do you put in the:

shop setup-preferences box
category-create box ...and the
category/subcategory-create box

A visitor who comes to your site can search from the home page, the category page or the subcategory page...so do you put all your keywords in all the boxes to cover his search preference?  Which would mean the shop setup-preferences box would have all the keywords your categories cover.
