Hello guys...

I just want to say few things about how to get help.

Some of you where screaming after me, asking why am i hiding and why i am not solving your problems.. well.. i am not hiding and i do solve your problems wherever possible.

This forum was made that users with more experince to help users with less experince, is not a ticket system, where you ask and I reply.

I can't read all the threads and all the posts and even if I could, you can't leave too much info on the forum, and I can't reply to requests like "my TBS does not ping anymore". I need to know the domain, access to manage area, maybe ftp sometime, to check indeed if is a problem with TBS or just with your server or even your local computer (browser problems, firewall problems, etc)

So.. if you really need my pesonal help, email me.. but please, please.. don't exagerate.. Try to get an answer here, try to read through the online help (http://halfagain.com/knowledgebase/), watch movie tutorials (http://theblogsolution.com/tutorials.php)

80% from the emails i get have answers in the online help, but seems no1 is trying to read and understand that.

Now.. few things about when you really need to email me:

- try to describe the problem, what you try to do, what erors you get (if any), what you expect to happend and what is really happend (or not happend at all)
- try to put all data in one email, instead of emailing me every 10 minutes with more info that you discovered.
- try to give me as much info as u can: domain name, access to manage area, maybe even ftp so i don't have to ask again

And when you get an answer from me, try to post it here too.. not leave that thread open and look like your problem was never solved. Share it.

Thanks

Hi

I just read this post & thought I should raise my hand (please sir may I speak :p ) and just point out a few facts on my experience of getting support from Omar & Scott.

I contacted Omar about some problems I was having setting up my BS V2 which despite all my efforts, the solution evaded me. So heres what happened....

1. I emailed Omar for the first time ever last night at 21.42pm (GMT) with my problems on BS

2. Within just over an hour I had a very detailed, very helpful email back from Omar covering my problem.

3. I emailed Omar again with a follow up problem

4. Yet again I received a lightningly fast, extremely friendly & helfpul reply

Now sounds good right?

Well its not just Omar who seems to consistantly offer rapid, helpful support (and no he wont play hide & seek with me, seems he doesnt like hiding Shocked ) )

So I have contacted Scott also for after sales support.... and again I get replies that are so hepful I half expected to be charged for receiving them...

So, my conclusion is that 9 out of 10 times the support you need WILL be delivered as fast as Scott & Omars fingers can deal with it... but also there will be those rare occasions when they have to eat, sleep & err.. well...

Sorry to butt in to this thread, but I believe give praise when its due (and slappings to).

Onwards & upwards

Will

I'm new to this board - so perhaps someone that is familiar with it (and more experienced) could take on an idea to help lighten the load for both Omar and Scott, and help others. It's kind of a work in progress idea. (Some of this might just be a link to another post?)

Make an FAQ and post the most commonly asked questions on these boards for the top 20 or so questions to get it started.

Let me get the ball rolling;

What are the hosting requirements?
How many times should I ping per day?

Note - it might be helpful to keyword stuff at the bottom of the post for the sake of others doing a search.
Not everyone will use the same terms.

e.g.
faq, frequently asked questions, new, newb, newbie, noob, starter, beginner

* Probably best to start as a new post with a suitable title.

The Knowledgebase doesn't have that much in it.  Doesnt take long to read it through and find that the issue one has isn't there.

But I have had lightning fast responses from Omar whenever I've asked.

Hi Omar,

Well, I installed BS2 on one of my existing domains. Unfortunately, I was not aware that the BS2 takes over the whole domain -- not a good thing.  Is there a way to remove this particular installation to put it back the way it was before the install ?

What are the uninstall steps ...

Thanks

Hi Omar

I sent you a support ticket. Do let me know if you didn't receive it. It's about the dub-domains not working correctly.

Thank you.

Hi Omar, I sent an email to support and it bounced. Tried sending you a private message and it says your box is full.

I sent an email to scott though but not sure if he'll receive it or not. Can someone please confirm?

Omar!
I'm having installation problems. I purchase blogsolution. I download uploaded the "install" in binary. It's not working. I go to my domain [url] and install blogsolution in binary and I get this (see below): What did I do wrong.

Also, how many different programs must I install to get this product working (MySQL, Zend and what else)? What additional programs must I install on the remote (ISP) server?

I emailed support [at] halfagian [dot] com as per the website on 12/17/2007 (no response for 5 workdays) and the forum has blocked my ability to send you an email as you stated to do.

If you need more than a week to get a proper response, please at least acknowledge that you have received my email and will get to it in XX days.

Now that both avenues have not worked I'm trying a third way to contact you.

Or please tell me how to get a refund.

I'm not yelling, I merely need a response.

I am sorry but i am not sure which was your email. I have lot of emails that get returned because of serevr issues, lately many yahoo emails get back and say smth like "email not delivered yet, do not try to send again now". You should check your bulk folder or make sure your email server does not bounce our replies.

You can email me again to omar at halfagain dot com or use PM here.

I am using BS 3.0 youtube edition from BS team.
I installed it using 1st option that make each blog with a subdomain.

Now I create a subdomain as abc.mydomain.com from my control panel PLesk or cpanel. It was created successfully, but when i access it from web, its saying page not found.

I think i have to change some code in .htaccess file but where and what, can some please help me?

Regards,
AKS.

In the user manual says to enable wildcards subdomains (or ask your host to do this) in order to be able to use the subdomains options. Creating subs in our control panel has nothing to do with it (and should not be done).
