Oh yeah, its spam. Don't feel too bad. Xrumer is almost impossible to stop. The program automatically finds forums, blogs, guestbooks etc, applies for membership, breaks the captcha, replies to the confirmation email and then posts using an ever updating list of anonymous proxies. It can do this a thousand times an hour.

It is seriously evil and well worth getting. Cheesy

Hostnine Reseller account

10 class ip's 8 in the usa one in the uk one in asia

I only set up one blog next day

We had to disable this site for causing load issues. Recently this server has been spiking very fast and we have had to suspend a number of accounts. Yours is one of them. Do you have a cron running or something?

Omar,

I discovered that every problem I've email or posted about was related to my firewall.
I disabled the firewall and installed TBS with no issues. The firewall also
causes the script to go to the password after every link click. So I have to
disable when I want to manage/create the blogs.

Could this issue also happen with rssEvolution?

I thought they were pretty good, definitely expensive. Until two days ago when my sites all went down and have been down since. All I can get out of tech support is that 'They are working very hard on the problem and that my sites will be up very soon'. Oh, and an obligatory 'We appreciate your patience'. Little do they know, I have less patience than they give me credit for.

At $79.95 per month I think I deserve better than what webhost4seo is providing.

If it makes you feel better it's not just your sites that are down
I think the servers have been left unmanned for the bank holiday
The guy has to take a break now and then
Just a pain the servers are joining the weekend off
Lets hope its not a extended weekend

Actually no it doesn't make me feel better.

My sites were down for 72 hours. When they finally did come back online the  tech was congratulating himself because he wrote " The issue has been fixed. I checked a few of your sites. It resolved properly."

"Resolved properly" meant one of my sites was completely gone and all of my blogs reverted to version 3.0 without youtube. All of the blogs were empty or had at most 2 posts in them.  Not the way I left them.

When you pay that much for webhosting you expect more. I get better service from my webhost that I pay $80 a year for.

Hey guys..

You may noticed that some of you have some troubles in installing TBS, and except from browser bugs in firefox, many issues are related to server configuration.

We have tryed the past few days to solve this issues form changing our code, as much as we could, but it is impossible to solve all.

Some hostings have so strange settings, that is impossible for us to fix them in any way.

So i have opened this thread.

Please feel free to post here about your hosting experince.
What works good, what works but with some adjustments and what is not working.

Let's hope this thread will hope the actual users, and maybe other people that are not using yet TBS and just make their research

Thanks
Omar

They impressed me many times by the fast responds they give..

I have a VPS account with cPanel and 10 IP's which is quite expensive, so I've been looking for a second cheaper VPS host and have discovered what looks like a good configuration for a more reasonable price, the only possible drawback is the lack of cPanel, this is an add-on which will push the price up again.

It does, however, come with LxAdmin. I've used most of the popular control panels but I've never used LxAdmin but from the tech stuff seems a decent control panel. So my question is does BS4 require hosting with cPanel?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the original BS used wild card domains and that may have required cPanel.

I have transfered the files to Hostgator - all ok.
Changed the permissions to 777 as requested.

Host Gator say we cant do this because of security and to try 644. I did this.

I get an Internal Server error when trying to load the install.php script in the browser.

Any ideas ?

Regards to all.

Since when they do not allow 777? I know many people using BS and other scripts that require 777 on hostgator.

644 won't work but you can try to use 755

Jeff

Get them to transfer you to hxxp://seohosting.com/

It's part of Hostgator and you can use 777 there

HostGator runs PHPSUexec .

755 will work as 777 for your scripts.

(And thats all I know about PHPSUexec. That came from the COMUS Thumbs site forums.)

It worked when I installed COMUS-Thumbs and MyDD.

If some directories require 777 or are set by the install, and then can't be accessed by the script, just change them back to 755 after installing.

If they require 777 during install and they won't stay at 777 for the install - then use Cpanel instead of your FTP to set the permissions.

(Don't know why. But I had this problem during a script install, and that's how I solved it.  At hostgator. Baby plan.)
