Error during install communicationg with MySql database

I ran across an old post with exact  same error; I could have written this exact post, word for word:

New user of Blogging Solution here.

I keep getting this error"*Ok, let's go. Where is my magic wand...*

Trying to communicate to your MySQL server and see how is he going here:
*Failed. I can't communicate with your MySQL server. The following error might help you to solve the problem:*
/Access denied for user 'mataboli_pat'@'localhost' (using password: YES)/    "

Does anyone know how to correct it?

I was able to install on another domain but not the one I am getting
failures for.

Did anybody ever come up with a solution here? I have double and triple checked to make sure I am inputting the correct database name and user name, and password. I even deleted them all and reinstalled mysql with new user and tried again just to be sure. No joy.

Have you checked this thread: http://halfagain.com/forum/help-zone/mysql-error/ ? Is same error and all possible causes are there.
