Hi All

I have not purchased yet and was wondering if I have to pay for each domain name for every blog, so 1000 blogs will need to purchase 1000 domain names.

This question was unanswered on the site.  If not,  how does it all work.  There is very little info on this on the site

Thanks

Dave

Dave,

Everyone has their own strategy. I chose quality over quantity myself and that works for me.

I know quite a few that have gone your route though. Please be careful. Your strategy is not a good one for beginners. Your learning curve will be more painful than necessary. Start with a few sites and as you get to understand what works best, niche, content, landing page structure, seo, getting traffic, etc.. - then add in volume.

First, noone should know that you are planning 1000 sites. Your livelihood is dependent upon Google mostly (unless you have lots of money to buy traffic or lots of time to build "customers" ) and Google is always vigilant and looks for abuses. For example, if you build 1000 blogs and turn on adsense - Google will notice at some point. How many separate businesses will they be paying?

That's just one example. Still, it works for some. But, they know how far to push and with which affiliates.

So, to answer your actual question - some buy the 1000 domains, others buy one or a few and create subdomains.

bananasoup.com
recipes.bananasoup.com
bowls.bananasoup.com
spoons.bananasoup.com

Others use systems like blogger which can provide free subdomains.

One last bit of advice. Be wary. By the time you read of a method, it has likely been "outed" and systems are in place that will make it harder for you to use - or there is a lot of competition in your way.

What works consistently through the years is the following formula: a good niche plus organic seo plus time plus effort.

The quick money is for those with expertise and resources to play that game. Beginners typically lose their shirt.

Have a 90 day plan for phase 1 where you are building and learning. You will notice that some affiliates are better than others - less time-consuming or better paying. You will notice that some of the keywords you targeted are worth little, and find better ones along the way.

Once you are comfortable, and your foundation is in place..you can sustain the inevitable glitches and hits that befall all of us at various times. Never put all your eggs in one basket! Use several hosts, several affiliates, several everything. Diversify.

Best of luck to you. It's hard and boring work. But, if you are diligent and willing to learn, you will do well.
